I have business experience working for a South African non-governmental organization (NGO) and a Canadian insurance company. I aim to share my experiences with students and teach them about not only business protocol, but also about intercultural communication.

学修の目的と方法

授業の概要 Students will learn about English communication in a business context. While the four skills will be utilized, there will be a greater emphasis on listening and speaking. We will study about business protocol and global business skills, including telephone conversations, meetings, letters and e-mails. Course content will build upon what was already learnt from English II Advanced D (Spring Semester).
学修の目的 Students will learn how to use English in a business context.
学修の到達目標 Students will be ready to communicate in English in a variety of real-world business situations. Students will have a greater understanding of the fundamentals of basic business communication and their application to workplace situations . Furthermore, students will also have a greater awareness of cultural norms in the English-speaking business world.

受講要件 To register for this course, you are required to have scored 600 or higher on TOEIC IP.
Students who have earned two credits in TOEIC preparation courses are also eligible to register.
予め履修が望ましい科目 Taking the spring semester of my business English course 英語II発展D (前期) is recommended but not required.

Students who have not taken that course should prepare for this course by becoming acquainted with the textbook material (Modules 1-6) on their own. This will help increase familiarity with the course content that will be taught.
