学修の目的と方法
| 授業の概要 | 生物資源にまつわるテーマについて、リスニング/ディベート/ディスカッションを行う。応用段階の英語学習として、スピーキング重視。単なる会話ではなく、テーマを論理的に理解・整理し、建設的な結論を導き出す訓練を通して、より高度かつ効率的な英語力向上を目指す。 |

| 授業改善の工夫 | Students are expected to involve in active discussions during the lectures & presentation sessions. Students are encouraged to speak freely in English in the classroom. There are video tours of soil degradation and composting techniques. |

| 学修内容 | Two lecturers conduct this course. One lecturer will cover the initial eight topics during the first half, and the other will cover the remaining seven topics during the second half of the course. 1.Guidance-the first half of lectures and introduction on sustainable agriculture. 2. Current situation of global agriculture sector and how to feed the population in 2050. 3. Farming practices and soil degradation. 4. Powerpoint presentations in English by students and discussions①. 5. Powerpoint presentations in English by students and discussions②. 6. Land conservation and water management for sustainable agriculture. 7. Pests and integrated pest management. 8. In-class activity: Questionnaires/writing a short report based on the lecture contents. 9. Guidance- the second half and Climate change and its effects on agriculture. 10. Fundamentals of agricultural waste management. 11. Composting: microorganisms, pathogen removal 12. Powerpoint presentations in English by students and discussions③. 13.
