授業の概要 | The course emphasizes skill development for the production of academic papers for essays and themes of a longer nature. Students will study examples of academic writing in order to produce correctly formatted, grammatically correct works which accuratly commuicate their ideas. The course is project driven and supported by lecture and study of exemplars. Short lectures will be followed by examination of various writing styles which will form a foundation for student writing projects. |

学修の到達目標 | By the end of the course, students should be able to: Understand and corrrectly follow instructions for formatting an academic paper. Understand the essential differences between expressing fact and opinion. Gain an understanding of and skill in implementing both "head" and "heart" reasons to support an opinion. Create written projects in English in several different styles. |
