授業の概要 | According to Brundtland Report (1987), Sustainable Development (SD) is defined as development meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. In 2015, the UN formulated more specific sustainable development goals (SDGs).The most critical resources for survival of future generations depend on climate stability and biodiversity. We must respect nature and limit our economic activity. However, many people are still far from being able to meet their basic needs, especially in developing countries. SD addresses issues of improving the lifestyles of the poor without overburdening our ecosystems? It is a challenge to change individual lifestyles in developed countries, their government policies that secure social justice and social business. This lecture provides a basic understanding of these challenges, introduces strategies and instruments for sustainable development. |
