学修の目的と方法

授業の概要	This 15 week course will consist of reading Part I of the graphic novel: "The Complete Maus" by Art Spiegelman. The focus will be on reading, discussing, and empathizing with the characters and the effects of the Holocaust on their lives. Formal emphasis will be also given to visual representations within the graphic novel, double-meanings, and the interplay of frames. Students will read, take part in class discussions, keep a notebook with their reflections, take periodic quizzes, write a final essay and submit a portfolio for evaluation.
