学習の目的と方法

授業の概要	This 15 week course focuses on the literature produced during a specific historical period in British and/or American history. As such emphases may range from examining genres, shifts in cultural context, and the importance of the texts themselves in relation to the canon of their respective cultures. Topics differ year-by-year, but may take the form of themes such as “Early American Literature”, “Modern British Poetry”, or “Post-9-11 American Writing”. Students will read, have class discussions, keep notebooks on their progress, take quizzes, and give a presentation to the class.
学習の目的	To read American and/or British novels to gain a greater insight in their respective cultures and more generally, to explore the complexities of humanist values as reflected in the literature of the period.

受講要件	「英米文学概論」を履修済みか履修中であることが望ましい。あわせてAIIの学生（中学校英語一種免許取得希望者）は「英米文学講読演習I 」及び「英米文学講読演習 II 」を履修済みか履修中であることが望ましい。

その他	Class participation and attendance will be mandatory in order to receive a passing score in this class. Four unexcused absences will result in an automatic “0” in this class. All work or socializing in this class must be conducted in English.
