授業の概要 | (Course description/outline) This course deals with methods for atomic-level structural analyses (an X-ray diffraction, an electron microscopy, a scanning tunneling microscopy, etc.) and elementary analyses (an electron probe microanalysis, a mass spectrometry, electron spectroscopy, etc.) which are required to understand characteristics of various materials. Lecture on principles and applications of the analytical methods are conducted based on advanced knowledge of solid state physics. |

学修の目的 | (Learning objectives) The goal of this course is to understand, - overview of solid state physics, - principles and applications of structural analyses (an X-ray diffraction, an electron microscopy, a scanning tunneling microscopy, etc.) and elementary analyses (an electron probe X-ray microanalysis, a mass spectrometry, electron spectroscopy, etc.), - how to apply these knowledge to studies on material science studies. |
学修の到達目標 | (Achievements) At the end of the course, participants are expected to understand the principle of the atomic/molecular level material evaluation and to carry out the evaluation in actual study. |
